Big Mac Burger homemade

Time: 20 min | Difficulty: Easy

The Big Mac is a hamburger sold by the international fast-food chain McDonald's. It was first introduced in 1967 by Jim Delligatti, a McDonald's franchisee, and has since become one of the company's most recognizable and best-selling products. The Big Mac consists of two beef patties, special sauce, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, pickles, and onions, served on a three-piece sesame seed bun. The exact recipe for the special sauce is a closely guarded McDonald's secret.

It is all the better to present the slightly modified Big Mac in the self-made creation.

One of my favorites! Homemade is even stronger than the one from the well-known manufacturer – Prime Recipes

Ingredients

For 2 servings

For the burger

  • 4 burger buns (with sesame)

  • 300 g minced beef

  • 4 slices of cheddar

  • a few leaves of iceberg lettuce

  • 1 small onion

  • 2 portions of pickled cucumbers

Big Mac Sauce

  • 120 g mayonnaise

  • 40 g cucumber relish

  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 small garlic clove

  • 1 shallot

  • 1 tbsp mustard

  • 1 tsp ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Preparation in 6 steps

  1. Start by peeling the onion and cutting it into small cubes. Next, wash the lettuce and tear it into large pieces.

  2. The ground beef should be formed into four equal-sized balls and then pressed into thin burger patties using a burger press. The patties should then be covered and refrigerated for a while.

  3. Preheat the hob with a pan and a little oil or the gas grill with a reversible plate to direct high heat.

  4. Halve two burger buns horizontally and cut off the tops and bottoms of the remaining two burger buns. Remove the middle slice of bread. Then, briefly toast the tops, bottoms, and middle slices on all cut edges in melted butter in a pan or on a reversible plate for a few minutes.

  5. Fry or grill the patties for a few minutes on each side. Then, grill them in the indirect zone until cooked to your desired doneness. Add a slice of cheese and let it melt slightly. Repeat the process with a second patty.

  6. Spread a tablespoon of burger sauce on the bottom and middle buns. Top each bun with lettuce, onions, and pickles, then place the patties on top. Place the middle bun on the bottom of the burger, top with the top half of the bun, and serve.
