The Deep Fried Cheeseburger is a culinary creation that appeals to burger lovers and fans of fried treats alike. This unique burger consists of a classic cheeseburger dipped in oil and then fried to perfection. Not the whole burger, but the smashed patties, including the cheese. The resulting burger has a crispy outer layer and a juicy, cheesy interior. It's a rich and decadent meal often served with French fries or potato chips.
Despite its popularity, it's important to note that this burger isn't necessarily the healthiest choice due to its high fat and calorie content. But for those looking to indulge in a cheat day or simply try something new, the Deep Fried Cheeseburger might be just the thing.
TIP:
Explore different types of cheese. Two meat patties are placed on the burger with different slices of cheese.

Deep Fried Cheeseburger
For the Burger
2 Brioche Buns
240g ground beef
4 slices of cheese (2 different varieties)
1/2 onion
2 portions of pickles
2 tsp mustard
2 tsp mayonnaise
1 liter oil for frying
6-step preparation
1. Prepare the patties and onions
Peel the onion and cut into rings about 0.5 cm thick. Divide the ground beef into four equal-sized balls and press them into flat patties (about 0.5 cm thick) using a burger press or a sturdy spatula.
2. Preheat grill or pan
Preheat the stovetop with a pan and a little oil, or prepare a gas grill with a hot reversible plate for direct heat.
3. Toast the buns
Cut open the burger buns, brush the cut surfaces with butter, and toast cut-side down for about 30 seconds until golden brown.
4. Fry the patties
Heat oil in a pot to approximately 160°C (stovetop) or 190°C (Dutch oven on the grill). Carefully place the patties into the hot oil using tongs and fry for about 30 seconds.
Note: Never leave unattended and avoid danger of splashing!
5. Melt the cheese
Lift a patty, place a slice of cheese on top, and dip the whole thing briefly into the hot oil several times (4-5 times) until the cheese is well melted. Repeat with the remaining patties and cheeses.
6. Assemble the burgers
Bread the toasted bun halves with mayonnaise and mustard. Place one American cheddar patty and one Emmental patty on each bottom half. Then top with cucumber slices and onion rings. Place the top bun half on top, halve the burger as desired, and serve.
💡 Save calories –
Total savings potential: 👉 Up to 200–300 kcal per serving if you:
Use only 2 slices of cheese instead of 4 or switch to light cheese
Replace mayonnaise with low-fat yogurt or light mayo
Use mustard sparingly (1 teaspoon per burger is enough)
Replace brioche buns with smaller or lighter buns
Use only the minimum amount of oil when frying (e.g., by dabbing more thickly or using oil spray with hot air circulation)
👉 Result: The burger remains hearty and cheesy, but with significantly less fat and calories – ideal for more conscious enjoyment.
