Ingredients

For 2 servings

American Burger

For the burger

  • 2 burger buns

  • 400 g minced beef (200 g each)

  • 6 slices of bacon

  • 4 slices of cheddar / processed cheese

  • 1 red onion

  • 1 tomato

  • 2 portions of mayonnaise

  • 2 servings of barbecue sauce

  • 4 leaves of Lollo Bianco lettuce

  • 20 g butter

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Oil for frying

Preparation in 8 steps

  1. Start by peeling the onion and slicing it into approximately 0.5 cm thin rings. Cut the tomato into approximately 0.5 cm thin slices. Wash the lettuce leaves and shake them dry.

  2. The ground beef should be formed into two equal-sized balls and then pressed into thin burger patties using a burger press or a spatula. The patties should then be covered and refrigerated for a while.

  3. Prepare the hob by heating it with a pan and a little oil, or set the gas grill with a reversible plate to direct high heat.

  4. Add a little oil and fry the onion rings for 2-3 minutes until evenly browned. Then set aside.

  5. Fry or grill the bacon with the lid closed for about 4 minutes until crispy. Then set aside.

  6. The patties should be fried or grilled for a few minutes on each side with a little oil. Place two slices of cheddar cheese on each patty. Then, they should be heated in the indirect zone of the grill to the desired doneness with the lid closed or under a burger dome for about 2 minutes.

  7. Cut the burger buns open. Brush both halves with butter. Then toast them cut-side down for about 30 seconds.

  8. Spread the bottom half of the bun with mayonnaise. Top with the Lollo Bianco, tomato, patty, bacon, and finally, the onions. Brush the top half of the bun with barbecue sauce and place it on the burger.
