The Big Pulp Kahuna Burger is a fictional burger made famous by Quentin Tarantino's film "Pulp Fiction." In one scene, the character Jules, played by Samuel L. Jackson, orders this burger from a fast-food restaurant called the "Big Kahuna Burger." The burger itself is never seen in the shot, but the way Jules eats and talks about it has made it an iconic part of pop culture.
Although the Big Pulp Kahuna Burger isn't real, many fans and chefs have created their own versions based on what they imagine it might be. Some assume it's a Hawaiian-style burger, since "kahuna" is a Hawaiian word. Therefore, many recipes include pineapple, teriyaki sauce, and other ingredients associated with Hawaii.
Despite its fictional origins, the Big Pulp Kahuna Burger has had a unique impact on the world of food.

Ingredients
For 2 servings
Big Pulp Kahuna
For the burger
2 brioche buns
400 g minced beef (approx. 100 g each)
2 tsp light miso paste
8 thick slices of bacon
4 slices of cheddar / processed cheese
100 ml ketchup
100 ml mayonnaise
4 tbsp teriyaki sauce
Salt & Pepper
For the pineapple chutney
2 red onions
1/2 pineapple
2 green chili peppers
3 tbsp cane sugar
50 ml white wine vinegar
Preparation in 6 steps
For the chutney, first peel the pineapple. Then remove the core and finely dice the fruit. Peel the onion, deseed the chili, and finely dice both. Bring everything to a boil in a small saucepan with the vinegar, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce. Reduce heat to low and let it reduce for 5-10 minutes. Then let it cool completely.
Prepare the hob by heating it with a pan and a little oil, or set the gas grill with a reversible plate to direct high heat.
Form the ground beef into four equal-sized balls and then press them into thin burger patties using a burger press or a grill spatula.
Grill or fry the patties for 3-4 minutes. Meanwhile, grill the bacon on a cast iron griddle or skillet until crispy. Spread the cheddar cheese on the patties and let them melt on the grill or under a burger bun with the lid closed.
Burger sauce is made by blending mayonnaise and miso paste. Ketchup and teriyaki sauce are also blended together.
Spread mayonnaise on the bun halves. Top the burger with pineapple chutney, patties, bacon, and teriyaki ketchup to your liking. Cover the burger with the top half of the bun and serve.
